Legend has it that eye diseases will be healed by washing the eyes with the magical water from "Ruri no Taki", or Azume Waterfall, at this Buddhist temple, which was built in 701 A.D. Once you enter the gate, which is an important cultural property designated by the Prefecture, you will find the oldest three-stored pagoda in Shizuoka Prefecture followed by a number of treasures. The woods surrounding the approach to the main hall on the mountaintop still look the same way as it did 10.000 years ago.

O portal principal do templo é patrimônio cultural essencial da Nação, e ainda um pagode de três andares, o mais antigo da província, entre outros tesouros históricos. A trilha que leva ao salão principal, no topo da montanha, é cercado por florestas que permanecem intocadas a 10 mil anos.
